A Message from the Principal

Welcome to St Anthony’s School, KEDRON.  In 1929 the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception travelled to Kedron Brisbane with a vision and mission.  It was to build a Franciscan school community based on Gospel Values and relationships based on the teachings of Jesus.  As principal I can confidently say that this vision and mission of our Franciscan Sisters and Friars is still being lived today by our students, families and staff.

St Anthony's School was named after St Anthony of Padua who was born in Portugal and joined the Franciscan Order in 1221. We are very proud of our Franciscan Ethos and Charism. St Anthony's Feast Day is celebrated on June 13th and this is a time of great celebration for our school community.

St Anthony’s is administered by Brisbane Catholic Education in the Archdiocese of Brisbane.  We are located between two Franciscan secondary colleges, Mt Alvernia for girls and Padua for boys. Together the three schools exist as an educational entity that is known in the local area as FOTH (Franciscans on the Hill).

As a Parish School we enjoy a very positive partnership with Little Flower Church that comes under the stewardship of the Franciscan Friars. We are delighted to have Fr. Joseph Nguyen as a welcomed presence in our school.  Our school is embedded within the Franciscan tradition and our community continues to be inspired by the spirit of St Francis and St Clare of Assisi.

St Anthony’s is proud of their team of professional, dedicated teachers and staff who are providing students with exciting learning experiences in a caring and safe community. We acknowledge our parents who are the “first educators of their children” and actively encourage their involvement in their child’s journey from Prep to Year Six.

There is much to enjoy in my role as Principal of St Anthony’s School KEDRON, but I particularly enjoy meeting and talking with parents and guardians as you make these very important decisions about the educational life of your children. In the pages that follow you will find a range of information about our wonderful school. I encourage you to take some time to explore our site and contact us if you have any questions or if you would like further information on our school.

With best wishes

Martin Wilkie
Principal
